Week 7 – Monday

Ephesians 6:10 ESV “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.”

For this week’s study, we are going to stay in the same Scripture passage. The book of Ephesians, was written by Paul to the church at Ephesus. Chapter 6 begins the summation of all Paul had been teaching the Christians up to that point. They had been given all the tools to live the Christian life. It was now time to apply them, and use them to defend against the temptations they would face each and every day. In v. 10, we are challenged, to be STRONG – we know our Father, we know how much He loves us, we’ve experienced His grace, and we know we can trust Him. It is now time for us to allow our faith to make us strong. We don’t have to give in to temptation, we don’t have to give Satan the victory, we don’t have to be a part of evil. We will see what this strength looks like as we unpack this passage. Perhaps you’re not feeling strong today. Get alone with your God and remind yourself of WHO He is. Allow Him to reassure you and find His strength once more.

We invite you to share your insights and thoughts by leaving a comment below or by replying to another comment.

If you would like, you can unpack the verse S.O.A.P style:
S = Scripture; what is it that I’m reflecting upon.
O = Observation; what does this mean to me, what do I notice?  What got my attention? Can I rephrase this in my own words?
A = Application; how can I apply this into my life?  What action can I take as a result of what I just learned
P = Prayer; based on what I’ve learned and my application/action, pray – talk to God about your insight, ask for help, offer thanksgiving.

S: Ephesians 6:10 ESV “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.”

O: God never asks me to do something I am incapable of doing. If He is calling me to be strong, that means I am equipped to be strong. I have the power of the Almighty GOD on my side. I can face everything that comes my way with strength and courage. We were made to be courageous, not cower afraid, trembling at the thought of Satan’s capabilities.

A: God’s timing is impeccable, and this Scripture could not have come to me at a better time. After an incredibly busy and emotionally draining weekend I feel many things. I feel empty, I feel exhausted, emotionally spent, done. I do not feel strong — the key word here is “feel.” I don’t have to “feel” –> I know He’s given me the strength, I know He won’t let me down, and I know I have the responsibility to be strong and courageous. Yesterday, my man and I had the awesome opportunity to see “Casting Crowns” live at the Colorado Rockies Faith Day — they sang their brand new song, {Courageous}, and although it was written w/fathers and sons in mind, it has been playing over and over in my head, challenging me with its message:
“The only way we’ll ever stand
Is on our knees, we’re lifting hands
    Make us courageous
    Lord, make us courageous”

P: I’m weak, Lord, I’m tired, I’m empty. I beg you to fill me back up. Help me remember the strength that is mine in You. Thank you…
