Water Cycle

{Photo 319/365}  He jumped in the car after school, it was the cutest thing in the world.  He said, “Mom, when it rains it’s NOT because Jesus is crying…when it rains it’s NOT because He is sad at the world.  I know why it rains!!”  A smile covered his whole face, I could tell he was excited about what he learned today in school.  When we got home he couldn’t wait to show me his science text book that explains the Water Cycle.  He said, “See mom? See?  The picture?  There’s water and lakes and puddles — then the water evaporates — then the water falls from the clouds that’s precipitation, that’s the rain!!  It’s not tears — I figured it out…the rain is not God’s teardrops.”  I captured this on video…it’s priceless — one of my favorite gifts of being a momma is watching these guys learn and grow.  Wow…what a GREAT gift!

ChapStick

{Photo 315/365}  This is the time of year when the lips start to get chapped.  Actually, I often feel dry and flakey all over and am very grateful for lotion.  For some reason my boys get the “ring-around-the-lips” and we go through ChapStick like it’s water.  I can’t remember actually ever running out of ChapStick…like getting to the bottom of the tube and not having any left.  What I mean when I say we go through ChapStick I’m saying we lose them.  I stock up with a variety of flavors.  We’ve got them in nightstands, junk drawers, my purse, in our cars, and of course the boys take them to school in the pocket of their jeans.  The problem is that when we need them, they seem to have disappeared…SO I have to run out to purchase another variety pack.  I don’t know…it’s just one of those mysteries — ChapStick.  Chapped lips. Dry Skin.

Everything for a Reason

{Photo 314/365}  Everything happens for a reason.  I got this card today…I opened it in my office.  When I finished reading the words, I looked out the window and below the window on the table was my FROG.  So, I merged the two…this message and Fully Rely On God.  I love His sweet reminders…today was the final day of the November Ultimate Journey.  The card was so appropriate, thank you Susan.  I smiled.

Transparency

{Photo 313/365}  Have  f a i t h  …trust the process.  God amazed me again…I am not surprised — He continues to do that in BIG ways and in little ways.  Transparency invites in SO much;  healing. restoration. connection. truth.  Life-long friendships were developed this week, in this little room as we embarked on The Ultimate Journey.  Each time I facilitate one of these groups they look different.  I have learned to have one expectation…on God, for Him to show-up.  He did. He is faithful.

Preparation

{Photo 311/365}  Up until today — prayer is how I’ve been preparing for the next three days.  My prayers are always the same, “Father, may Your will be done, not mine.  May Your words be visible and my words invisible.  Nail my flesh down, speak through me.  Prepare their hearts for what You have in store for them.  Open their eyes to see, their ears to hear, their hearts to know the Truth that You want them to know in their hearts. Thank YOU for allowing me the opportunity to see first hand the work You are doing.”   Tomorrow, three women will begin The Ultimate Journey, Unpacking Self-deception.  I’m preparing the space so they feel special and comfortable.  I’m preparing my heart, my mind, my soul.  I am prepared and expecting God to show up in a VERY BIG way…

Holiday Brunch

{Photo 309/365}  Today was the annual ladies brunch at my mom’s church.  She “sponsored” a table — decorated it so beautifully, she’s crafty and creative like that, I am just not.  We don’t get together as often as you would think, since we all live so close; it takes intentionally planned events like this to get us ladies together.  I got to see two aunties, my mom’s cousin, her friend, and of course my mom and my sister.  It was a GREAT morning…fun.  Quiet.  Relaxing.

Blessings

{Photo 306/365}  Today is Wednesday…it’s Mom’s In Touch — when I’m in town, I make every effort to go.  When I walked into the school this morning, I saw him looking at me with a BIG smile on his face.  He loves his teacher — she is such a blessing.  This school is a blessing to our family.  The love, encouragement, support, and faith is priceless.  I love to see him smile.  What a GREAT way to start my day.  blessed.

The Relevant Conference

{Photo 300/365} I had an EARLY flight — when I got to the airport…sitting at the gate — I thought I recognized @Gussysews {that’s a twitter name, her real name is Maggie} It was her; we discovered that while tweeting back and fourth sitting at the same gate.  It is this strange weird world that the internet and social media creates.   It was a true blessing to meet @gussysews, she is ONE talented woman making fun sassy unique bags.  BUT this was just the beginning, I had a lay over in Detroit — there I met @funkyfaithgirl and @MySoulReflects and several others…it was a gathering of kindred spirits, it was sweet to meet so many fabulous women in real life that I’d only connected with 140 characters at a time.  When I arrived in Harrisburg, PA — I looked for this sweet friend @Erika_Dawson she’s an amazing writer, an special woman — not only have we tweeted, we’ve skyped!  I love the friendships that I’ve made online, I know God strategically places people into my life.  So excited to see what He has in store for me this weekend. Happy to be at #Relevant11.  Blessed to make new friends.

Snow Birds

{Photo 298/365} Count ‘em — that’s right — 18 wheelchairs welcoming the flight to Florida’s Southwest International Airport.  We travel back and forth frequently and I have never seen this many wheelchairs waiting for snowbirds at a gate…ever!  The security guard I talked with said the last 3 flights had all been like this — 14, 18, 24, and now 16!  This is a  T R U E  sign that winter is coming…solution?  Fly south to the Sunshine state.  The lady sitting next to me on the airplane chuckled and called it a wheelchair derby and Zach called it an “antique rodeo” — Love it!. =)

It was a day…

{Photo 297/365}  I had the best intentions for today.  A family day at the beach — not a cloud in the sky — water, shells, sand castles, sun, then lunch, a little more beach and wrapping up our joy-filled day playing in the pool. BLISS.  Sounds fabulous, right?  Unfortunately the day didn’t pan out to be what I had intended.  These two little nuggets were having a World War III — my patience was tested, my nerves were irritated, my fuse blew a few times {YES, a few…more than once!}  Oh well…tomorrow is a new day.  Grateful for grace.  Grateful for mercy. I think these two guys are too. It was a day…
