{Photo 256/365}  I love unexpected moments.  Tonight I brought Zane to his football game and his team just happened to be playing Owen’s team, SO my special “sister-friend” of course was there to watch her son play {with their dog Murphy}  Her and I were blessed with time together!  Talking, laughing, catching up and…watching our little guys battle it out.  I needed this blessing today, this out-of-the-blue happening.  ”A true friend is the greatest of all blessings…

Working Together

{Photo 255/365}  At the beginning of the school year I had both of the boys sign a contract.  They committed to positive attitudes, being a leader in their class, no complaining, respect towards others, and asking for help.  With that, comes my part — my commitment to working with them and being available to help when I’m asked.  Today was one of those days.  He needed help with his homework.  And, because it was such a beautiful day, we decided work together on the front porch.  Brent captured this moment for me.  I love watching and being a part of my boys growth.  I am amazed by how individual they are in how they learn and do things.  What a gift, a precious gift to be their momma.  ”Don’t prepare the path…prepare the child for the path.”

Pumpkin Spice Latte

{Photo 252/365}  It’s rare these days that I drink anything other than just coffee with a splash of skim milk and a splenda.  But today, as I went from one conference call to another and drove from one meeting to the next — I pulled into the Starbucks drive-thru and they “suggested” this drink to me.  I bought it, skinny style (no whip and skim milk) and with less pumps {2/3 what they would normally put it in} and it was yummo!  I LOVED today — so many GREAT things happening — SO SO many great things!  blessed.

{Photo 245/365}  We always go out early in the morning.  Watching the sunrise is one of my favorite things to do.  He was keeping an eye on the shore land as it faded off in the distance.  We ended up going about 13 miles out today.  Our guides, who we have every time, Neal and Rob call Zach — Zach-Attack — they love him and are always delighted to answer his many many questions.  We caught several fish, but no keepers.  It was a perfect venture…nice breeze, calm waters, and just enough clouds to protect us from the sun’s rays.  I go for him.  For quality time.  It’s our thing and we have fun.

Neighborhood Buddies

{Photo 236/365}  Another beautiful day — a revolving door over here in the neighborhood — which I love.  I got to hang with the boys today.  It’s great to have friends who live just driveways away, we haven’t had that before.  We love living here for so many reasons.  So many things to be grateful for. blessed.

{Photo 230/365} He’s untraditional in so many ways.  With holidays, birthdays, and other celebrations.  With business, always connecting dots, embarking upon new adventures, thinking outside of the box, taking risks.  Yet, traditional.  He’s a repeater and finds comfort in the usual, the established, the customary.  He subscribes to the newspaper, from his home town in Iowa; it’s a piece that keeps him connected to his roots.  He enjoys the coin collections.  The gentleman “ways” — I like that.  I just love him.  ”Let the wife make the husband glad to come home, and let him make her sorry to see him leave.” - Martin Luther

Life is Precious

{Photo 229/365}  I was R E F L E C T I N G this morning –> 1 year ago today…I can’t believe time has gone by so quickly…life is SO precious…SO fragile…our time here is SO temporary…we must L I V E each day to it’s fullest…BE a light…love…forgive…show compassion –> We are celebrating your life today, Michelle Holmes…remembering YOU!! I know you’re dancing with Our Father, singing, riding horses, doing yoga, and eating chips and salsa in heaven.  The three of us met today to remember our friend — mexican style, her favorite — we had a great time.  laughing. sharing. connecting.

Long Time No See

{Photo 219/365}  One niece arrived and another one departs — we were all so grateful for the few hours their time overlapped.  I think it had been at least six years since my two nieces had seen each other.  Those of us who were available met quick for dinner.  We enjoyed catching up.  Lots of smiling at our table. “The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing.”

{Photo 212/365}  I’m so grateful for the special friendships I have in my life.  Through ups and downs, thick and thin, good days and bad days, through tears and laughter…I don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for these priceless gifts; girl-friends.  This weekend just happened to be packed with seeing girl-friends — it was an unexpected surprise, some last minute “get-to-gethers” that worked…God’s little blessing to me.  He knows exactly what I need when I need it. joy.  “True friendship is seen through the heart, not through the eyes.”

Football Camp

{Photo 209/365}  He took this week so seriously, football camp.  Training for the upcoming season of tackle football is super exciting.  It was hot.  It was humid.  It was sweaty, sweaty, sweaty.  It was fun — he had a blast.  Zach and I went today and watched his team scrimmage the other teams, I can tell he learned a lot, fundamentals of the game, which is so crucial.  Life is about learning and growing.  It’s about commitment and desire.  This little guy toughed it out, had such a positive attitude all week, and now he’s anxious to start the season.  I love being a mom and watching these little nuggets develop. grow. become.  God is doing great things in their hearts, I can see it.  special.
