How are you Keeping it Personal?

The RECAP for you, just in case you missed something… =)

It’s MONDAY! Last week I announced in my first video blog that today we are starting something new.  Each Monday, starting TODAY, we are asking you How are you keeping it personal? …and want you to share!

There’s nothing tricky or flashy about this, we simply want to encourage you and hopefully others to keep it personal by asking yourself this question and giving it some thought, “What am I doing to keep it personal?”

What is Keeping it Personal? It’s about relationship. It’s about the connection. It’s about giving. Keeping it Personal can be with yourself, with others, or with God. It can be a random act of kindness, giving a compliment, or saying a prayer. However you’re doing it, we would love to know and grow the concept of Keeping it Personal.

Here’s is my answer: This week I am keeping it personal with myself. At first I thought, this is kind of selfish, maybe the first week I should share some amazing way I plan on blessing someone else. But the reality is, I need to regroup. I need to take time for me. I’ve been traveling the last couple of weeks, I’ve been out of town at hockey tournaments – I’ve got some big things happening in my life in March, and I need to take time to plan. I need to organize. I need to discipline myself to get some important things done that have been overlooked. Often times I can get so distracted with everything happening that I neglect things that I need to do for me. So, this week I am keeping it personal with myself. I am scheduling into my day the things that I need to get accomplished. This will fill my tank, help things become more manageable and allow me to be a better wife and mom.

So, that’s my answer. What is yours? How are you keeping it personal? Share your comment below, OR if you’re a blogger and have shared how you’re keeping it personal in a blog post, link up your post below!

We will read every comment and randomly pick one of the comments/blog posts to feature next week. Here’s the FUN part, the FREE Gift – the comment/post picked will receive a $10.00 Starbucks giftcard. You can grab a coffee on us and our hope is that you will keep it personal with another person and enjoy a coffee with them!

We look forward to reading your comments! Thank you for joining us and thank you for sharing this with others!

  1. Love this, and it comes with perfect timing. Just a few minutes ago, I was thinking about this, so here’s how I’m keeping it personal this week…

I’m going to go out of my way to be my husband’s help mate. For example, he’s off work today, and he’s worn out. I’m going to ask him this morning what I can do for him today. Each day I’m going to be purposeful in employing the term “help mate.” :)

That’s GREAT Hope – what a BLESSING you are to your husband!! I love it! Thank you for sharing. Great word “help mate” =)

  2. For 20 years, I was a full-time caregiver. I worked full-time, went to school full-time, and, for the first 9 years, took care of two adults full-time. There was no such thing as keeping it personal. Finally, after physical and emotional collapse, I learned the painful lesson that keeping it personal is what enables me to continue to live.

This past year, it’s been all about my personal relationship with God. I’ve never before been in a place where I could actually hear what he has to say. Active listening has been an interesting process.

In response, I’ve been blogging my lessons learned.

Thank you SO much Beth for sharing! WOW! Unfortunately we have to get to a low place sometime to figure this out, I know I did. BUT fortunately we have a God who is always there to pick us up, restore, heal, and provide! Love it!

I am keeping it personal by loving my husband of 30 years – I thank God everyday for sending my soul mate to me!

PRICELESS gift! Sometimes simply doing what we need to do is the perfect way to keep it personal; love. Thank you so much for sharing. =)

Tonight I shared a dinner with friends & even though I’m on a volunteer trip I found a way to make it special. A black sheet for a table cloth, some flowers from the blooming bushes & a couple of votive candles bought at a garage sale. Some dishes, the food & …it is personal & special for my guests (:
