Joy [joi] — noun; the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying; keen pleasure; elation. comfort. bliss.

One of the fruits of the Spirit – joy comes from God and dwells deep in our hearts.  Although joy and happiness can be felt together — when we experience the indescribable feeling of true God given joy, no trial, obstacle, or “storm” in our life can shake it.  It remains.  It is solid.  It’s a fruit that we bear as we walk and live in relationship with God.

What is joy to you?

Are you placing your joy in things or in others?

Is this a “feeling” for you that comes and goes?  If so, why?

Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Nehemiah 8:9 “…the Joy of the Lord is our strength.”

“Joy is the feeling of grinning inside.” – Melba Colgrove

What a huge encouragement, Teri! It’s often so easy to put our joy in our circumstances, but that “joy” is counterfeit and fleeting! –> “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of JOY; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11 -Rebekah
