January "bite-sized" Chunks

How refreshing and enlightening it is to clearly see and visualize where you’re going. So often, the thoughts I store in my mind don’t make it to paper, or the computer. THEN, they die before I can feed them.  They go away. Forgotten.

I’ve got my goals written {typed up – printed out} for 2011.  Most of them are BIG picture, long-term goals, that I’ve divided up into The 6 Areas of Personal Perspective:

Financial. Health/Wellness. Emotional. Spiritual. Relationships. Personal.

I’ve shared ALL of my goals with my husband, my MAIN accountability partner. Several with my close friends and business coach and now, as I’ve joined the 3 in 30: Making Goals a Reality 3 at a Time accountability group, I’ve broken them down into “bite-sized” chunks.  Of course, these chunks are the steps that help accomplish our BIGGER long-term goals, I will share 3 of my goals for January with you…

You may or may not know this, BUT I’m writing a book. SO EXCITED!! My NEW publication date is April 15th and currently I’m in the developmental editing process with the book and it’s due BACK to my publisher on January 14th.

Goal 1Review and Write Daily to meet the deadline. I will eliminate distractions for 8 hours each weekday up to the 14th, go to my quiet comfy office and write.

Each day I write and post a Daily KIP, I’ve been doing this for over a year now and will continue. However, I’ve been very inconsistent in writing longer blog posts. Honestly, I’ve NEVER set a goal in this area.

Goal 2I will write one “longer” blog weekly and post it every Thursday, that’s the day! January 6, 13, 20, 27

Health and Wellness
I NEED my soul food! To me, that is the Word, God’s Word – reading my Bible. I also need ME time – with everything going on in my life these days I can only carve this time out in the morning. IF I don’t wake up early, before my family, I’m behind the 8 ball before my feet hit the floor.

Goal 3I will wake up at 5:00am M-F and have my ME time. Read, pray, exercise, drink coffee, reflect, plan.

There you have it – another form of accountability! Have you set goals for 2011? How will YOU achieve them? What holds you accountable? Would LOVE to hear what you’re up to!

Ready. Set. GO!

I have always been great at making resolutions and horrible at keeping them. Accountability is definitely the key, although I’ve yet to find that perfect person or thing to keep me accountable. My husband is very supportive but also really busy. I don’t want to give him another responsibility. I like the idea of an accountability group. I will have to look into the one you joined, Teri! I really want 2011 to be different, and I want to be much more intentional about reaching my goals, so I will have to approach them differently in order to be successful this time.

Happy New Year! So glad to have met you in 2010 and can’t wait to continue to build our relationship in 2011! :)

Thanks for stopping by my posting, I am so excited to see what others come up with to focus on for the 30 days and beyond. Accountibility is something I have not quite nailed down, we moved alot the first half of our marriage, and now that we are settled down, it is something I am looking for. Blessing to you!

    • Teri says:

GREAT to meet you “virtually” =) Accountability is easy to escape, I did a really good job at it for many years myself for a variety of reasons. BUT I’ve learned how important it is for me to have if I want to grow, AND that is my desire…….. Blessings to you too – looking forward to this journey and meeting new people. FUN!
