Courage

Courage [kur-ij, kuhr-] – noun; the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery. boldness.

Having the willingness to do it afraid — to take action and move through fear with strength, is courage.  Living courageously eliminates conformity.  ”Moral” Courage is doing the right thing when the wrong thing seems to produce better results.  It’s having the ability to look someone in the eye that you have wronged and say I am sorry.  ”Physical” Courage is facing physical pain, fighting and not giving up.  It’s facing life’s difficult situations head on; learning and growing from our experiences, our hardships.  It’s looking in the mirror, taking responsibility for where we are, who we are, and who we are becoming. Courage is having the strength to rise after a really bad fall.

Reflect:
What was your most courageous moment?

Why do you think courage is important?

What action can you take to build more courage in your life?

Verses:
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

1 Corinthians 16:13 “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.”

Quote:
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow.” - Mary Anne Radmacher
