Chain of thoughts

These chain links are thick and heavy.  We are moving soon and this is the chain that will be used to hold up one of the light fixtures in our new home.  When I walked through the construction zone and saw this laying on the scaffolding I thought, “there is no way the light will break free from this chain; I hope.”  That is one chain I do not want to have broken.  The light fixture, I was told by the electrician, weighs 250 lbs. whoa!

Chains can confine and restrain, hold something in bondage.  They are used to connect, fasten, or secure things together.

I’m chained to ‘things‘ that I don’t want to be.  Emotionally.  In my mind.  With my thoughts.

I’ve been paying very close attention to what I think about; where I allow my thoughts to take me and the importance of breaking negative chain of thoughts.  Whatever I feed grows, that includes my thoughts.  If I’m wanting to break-free from my past, old hurts and pain, experience freedom, and continue to grow, my mind requires the most discipline.

FREE your mind and the peace of God will follow.  How do we free our minds?  Overcome evil with good.  Replace negative chain of thoughts with positive chain of thoughts.

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.  Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9

No matter how thick and heavy the chains are in our lives; there is a Power greater that can break them and set us free.  Start by freeing your mind.

You are welcome! =) loved your question, what has God done in your life recently? My initial thought was, what hasn’t he done – He is always revealing, teaching, molding, refining this chic! Grateful! Have a wonderful weekend too!
